Questions from Nigerians in the UK

+Can I buy property in Nigeria while living in the UK?

Yes. Many of our clients buy land and houses in Nigeria while living abroad. We do live video inspections, verify the documents and keep you updated on WhatsApp, so you only travel when you want to.

+How do I pay from the UK?

You can transfer from your UK bank account to the Barods Global company account, and we oversee the transaction until it closes. If you prefer to pay the seller directly, we ask that it goes through your lawyer. Our fee is invoiced only with our company bank details, never a personal account.

+How do I know the land is genuine?

Our lawyers vet the C of O or Governor’s Consent and the registered survey plan, and we check that the land is free from government acquisition, before you pay anything. You can also ask us to check a property you found elsewhere.

+Can someone act for me in Nigeria?

Yes. We represent you: our team inspects the property on your behalf and our lawyers vet the documents, so you can make an informed decision without travelling. You are also welcome to involve your own lawyer or a family member.

+How will I receive and sign the documents?

We courier the original documents to you for signature by DHL, FedEx or UPS. Alternatively, we hold them in trust until you are next in Nigeria, or deliver them however you instruct.

+What are your fees?

Our agency fee for sales is 10% of the agreed price, and it is negotiable. We agree it with you in writing before any transaction goes ahead.

+Where are you based?

Our office is at Suite B104, Providence Mall, MKO Abiola Way, Abeokuta, Ogun State. You are welcome to visit when you are in Nigeria.
